When We're Surrounded
Psalm 32:10
"Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him."
If you think about it, we're surrounded by many things in life. We're surrounded by good things, like our loved ones during the holidays. By nature when we go for a walk. By believers when we go to church. When you put your headphones in, you're surrounded by the melodies of your favorite music. Like the good things, we can just as easily be surrounded by bad things too. We can be surrounded by negativity and unbelief in so many different settings. We can even be surrounded by hate when we've stood up for what we believe in. No matter how bad or good a situation is, we have the opportunity to be surrounded by God's unfailing love at all times. All we must do is trust him.
When we trust in the Lord and show God that we are committed to him no matter what we are surrounded by, he promises to surround us with His unfailing and unbreakable love. When his love surrounds us, nothing else can touch us. We may be surrounded by hate, negativity, unbelief, and even persecution, but God's not going to let those things harm us. God holds the righteous in the palm of his mighty hand, and he will do whatever it takes to protect the people he loves. Nevertheless, if we lead wicked lives and disregard the love God has for us, we may find ourselves surrounded by the exact things we portray; sorrow and affliction.
